Cowboy Baby Shower Theme

Giddyup Ideas for a Cowboy Baby Shower Theme

When the bundle of joy is confirmed to be a boy, doesn’t it call for a celebration where everybody in attendance can yell “Yee-haw!” to welcome the baby’s arrival? A cowboy baby shower sounds fun in hooting and hollering the good news to the circle of family and friends of the mum-to-be.
Spread the ThemeBaby Cowboy
Bandanas are traditional outfit accessory for both cowboys and cowgirls. Regardless of colour and design, bandanas are the easiest way to lead guests into the cowboy theme. Set the shower right by sending a bandana clipped to the invitation that instructs how the piece of cloth should be worn to the party. Guests can also be asked to come in jeans, shirts, and boots to look the part of cowboys in revelry. Make sure to have a cowboy hat and bandana for the guest of honor so she doesn’t stand out of place amongst wranglers.
Graze the Ranch
If the party is to be held outdoors, line the front yard with rope and bales of hay. The same décor ideas can be continued inside the house although you don’t want hay messing all over your precious interior. Set several bales in different heights to sit the expectant mum during opening of baby gifts.
Decorate the food table with little cowboy boots filled with candies and other treats. Later, these can be given away as western favours when it’s time for cowboy guests to leave. Bigger cowboy boots can serve as a vase to hold water-tight containers with succulent Aloe vera or any cactus plant reminiscent of cowboy sandy environment.
Serve Authentic Food on the Range
Following the tradition of cowboy campers, set up a mini chuck wagon station and lay metal pans to serve authentic wild western food. Topping the list are chilli and cornbread, barbeque spareribs, cowboy goulash, and son-of-a-gun stew. Complete the buffet scene with old ladles and an old metal coffee pot to serve some strong stuff from ground beans to perk up the guests.
Hop on to Rodeo Fun
Set the right mood with good old country music playing in the background. Delight guests with bags of popcorn disguised as horse feed. Achieve a real cowboy ambiance by bringing in a live pony and offer willing guests a ride around the party area. If you want to take the cowboy theme to silly heights, create cut-out hobby horses on sticks. Host games where guests can play in teams of cowboys and bandits. Whether it’s throwing a lasso or racing to the finish line, watch how adults become kids again just for a cowboy baby shower.
